Menai Bridge in Anglesey North Wales

Menai Bridge is a small town nestling on the shores of the Menai Straits on eastern shores of the Isle of Anglesey.

The town is named for the huge bridge linking Anglesey to the mainland. The bridge is a suspension bridge and was constructed by Thomas Telford and consists to two huge pillars.

With the creation of the Britannia Bridge, which lies approximately one mile to the south, Menai Bridge saw a huge reduction in the traffic passing through it.

Today the town enjoys its more peaceful existance, visitors can walk through the shopping area or down to the shores of the Menai Straits and admire the architectual wonder and beauty that is Menai Bridge.
